You could probably oil it or something to get the crank working. Like everyone else, I say buy it-50 bucks are you kidding!! That is a steal for a cutie like that!

I have one. I love it. It belonged to my great grandmother. It is displayed in my office/work room now. My siblings are jealous that it was given to me as the oldest granddaughter. It will stay in the family. I say start a new tradition in YOUR family and grab it, enjoy it and pass it on.

PS: I can get mine to work if I fiddle with it a bit. I am a SC now, but as a child I make doll clothes with it.

It is cute.... but if I was giving the opportunity, I would probably pass because..a.) I don't have room for one more sewing machine, b.) I would want to use the $50 for material.

How sweet. Who cares if it's hard to crank?! Grab it or I will!

I have on of these sweet babies. It sits on my shelf. I've heard that they were called salemans samples. Buy if you can.

If I had the money for it, I woudl definitely buy it in a heartbeat!

The value as an antique would be much greater than $50. Even if a part is missing, it's a good conversational piece

Hurry get it!!! If you decide you don't want it... I'm sure there are plenty of people here who would buy if from you.
