Ethyl is Beautiful!! :D

quilting memaw 05-17-2010 12:27 PM

Hey! Is Ethyl coming to Auburn-Cord-Duesenburg over the summer? They show cars on Thursdays all the time. Look under DeKalb County home page at the calender to find the dates....she needs to strut her self at the shows!

sewred 05-17-2010 12:28 PM

She needs too much work but I just think she's "the bee's knee's!" hahahaha!

CarrieAnne 05-17-2010 12:31 PM

janRN 05-17-2010 02:00 PM

Showed my DH-big mistake. He wants to know the year, make and model please. It is a beauty!! Every summer we have a huge Classic Car & Motorcycle show here-the main street is shut down. Love it-so much fun.

Moonpi 05-17-2010 02:13 PM

And she's so (sew) red!

roseOfsharon 05-17-2010 02:17 PM

Cool car~ one day you will be driving her to car shows!

no1jan 05-17-2010 02:56 PM

She's beautiful. What year was Ethyl born in, or is it unpolite to ask a lady her age?

Chasing Hawk 05-17-2010 02:57 PM

She is lovely. Is she going to have her own "vintage" quilt to keep her warm?

granniebj 05-17-2010 03:38 PM

How cool!

fabric-holic 05-17-2010 04:07 PM

Oh I'm envious!! What a find--She's great looking.
What are "Ethyl's" vitals?
Make, model, age?
Have lots of fun with her.
I was in an antique car club in the 1980's with my then-husband. We had a 1928 Durant.
Such fun to go on drives with the others in their antique cars. And riding in the rumble seats was fun!!

debbieumphress 05-17-2010 04:21 PM

Hello friend. You are my friend right? You do remember my favorite color is red too. Are we on the same track? Can I expect something in the mail, like this beautiful car? I am so green over your red car. COngrats.

red roses 05-17-2010 04:40 PM

She is a swell car!

earthwalker 05-17-2010 04:42 PM

Very stylish ride is Ethyl....love her!

mamaw 05-17-2010 04:48 PM

Oh my gosh...Ethyl is beautiful!!!
That is one thing I always wanted for hubby and I. Around here there are cruise nights in the summertime where couples with old cars meet for supper, ice cream, and some oldies music. I do go once in a while just to look at the cars and enjoy the atmosphere.

stitchinwitch 05-17-2010 05:53 PM

LOVE IT!!!!-----put put---bang bang!!!!!LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

mcdaniel023 05-18-2010 01:46 AM

Wow!!!! She is a beauty.

Jingle 05-18-2010 04:37 AM

Beautiful car !!! I remember seeing these driven around town. The colors then were Black, Black or Black. We work up the highway from a restorer of old cars and still see one every so often, but, not black.

Jingle 05-18-2010 04:38 AM

Keeps double posting, yesterday and again today. Please ignore all my double posting, I don't know why.

I really like it you guys did good picking that one up!! You never see many 28-31 Chevys, you can find the 35's and up fairly easily but the early ones are hard to come by.

Looks like something I would see on the HAMB!!

Oh and I also included this thread in the Vintage Sewing Machine Shop just because it seems to fit so well!!

sewnsewer2 05-18-2010 11:43 AM

happy sewer 05-19-2010 05:26 AM

I WANT HER. I AM DRULING.

polly13 05-19-2010 06:25 AM

MY DH keeps looking, but doesn't jump into the purchase. I have been doing the same thing about buying a new sewing machine. After he sees this picture we may both be doing some serious shopping.

nwm50 05-19-2010 09:31 AM

Cool...have fun driving it! Currently having my 72 buick Gs rebuilt all over & can't wait til it all done!

Lyn4ty 05-19-2010 09:40 AM

I bought a 74 Buick Century GS the first year for the change over and I loved it!! It was highly optioned with bucket seats and the console floor shift and less that 30,000 miles on it. The only set back for me was it had a 350 in it instead of the 455. But for $1200 you could not go wrong. I drove the "Bufford" for several years and twice on the Hot Rod Magazines Power Tour as a "Long Hauler" (start to finish). It was nice to have a car with A/C in it on the tour!!

I hope I look that good when I get older.

KarenSimon 05-19-2010 05:55 PM
