I do too. A while back there was a tote full of"sewing stuff" that they just showed pics of the top stuff inside it. I recognized the box of Madeira embroidery thread(they sell for 25-30), so for ten bucks I got it. One of my best scores. The box of thread was rayon so I sold it, but there was about 20 new spools of Madeira and other good brands of poly and cotton thread, 2 pairs of old Wiss pinkers still in the boxes(and they are SHARP), machine feet, old hooks and fiddly bits I have no idea what they're for made from wood, bone(I think) and steel, just all kinds of cool stuff.

Congratulations, Joe. I guess I am going to try to figure out how to watch for goody boxes. My son is good to bring me his "hauls" from the local estate auctions and storage lots, but this looks great. You really scored on that one.

Shipping is unfortunately part of doing business any more. We got this box of goodies for less than $30.00, shipping included. It would have cost me around $80.00 to go pick it up. So using the prices from our LSMG we had near or over $150.00 worth of goodies had we purchased them locally.

Shipping included, we got a steal. Even if we threw the rest away and just kept the parts that will fit our machines, we're still ahead.

Joe, that is how I feel with shipping. Gas isn't cheap, plus the time it takes to get something. My main concern with getting items shipped is the potential for damage. For things unlikely to be damaged, I'd rather pay shipping and have it come to my door.

And for when we're not home - DH built a drop box. Our mail lady loves it!

Love that drop box. Does each delivery service have their own key, or how do you work that out?

I have three Famous buttonholers.

This is an earlier one - it comes with plates that fit both the 27 and 15 machines. I believe the needle plate goes on top of the regular feed dog plate. I know that is how some of the others I have are suppose to work. Ok- I suppose I could go read the directions - but what fun is that?

This one also came with the hole cutter with three knives. And that is part of the original set. I don't have original directions for this one, but I've seen them that show the knife on the parts sheet.

This one is for White Rotary model C. I think the only difference is the feed dog cover plate . . . but since I don't have a VS one, I'm not sure.

I also have one with a plate the fits National rotary machines. It's about the same but with a different cover plate.
