Very cool! I would love to see it working! I don't know if I'm blind or if it's not there but I don't see a needle...?
I saw a photo of a full-size (or maybe 3/4 size) machine shaped like a lion before, but this one is new to me! |

Actually, I have , Steve. I saw one, live, in Nashville, at the 2011 ISMACS convention. It was in original condition and categorized as . It was owned by Maggie Snell and sold for $15,000 in the auction. It is called Sandt Princess. It is considered a toy machine. Designed by Max Sandt and manufactured by Stienfeld & Blasberg in Germany.
The other machine designed is that of a clown and is even more rare. My understanding is that there were as few as 2 made. All 100% correct. Very cool. This one sold for a little less than that, but not much... Yep childs toy, chainstitch machine. Yes, the needle is not installed in the machine Yes that is the spool of thread she is sitting on. |
and it's a hand crank machine.....
