Congratulations on your new addition! Unfortunately you have been bitten by the vintage bug! It's very addicting. I have three very old machines, one treadle and two others only to keep my 6 featherweights company! I'm always on the look out! I slip into Goodwills all the time and today was one of them. I always ask myself what am I going to do if I find another beauty?!!! I couldn't pass up two featherweights so I bought them to find wonderful homes for. One is a Centennial and the other, if memory serves me right is a straited plate. I am looking for loving homes to place them in and only to appreciative and wonderful sewers!

I was able to find a replacement belt and oil for the machine. I spoke with an Antique dealer and he told me to use shoe polish to bring back the color on the "bleached" out areas of wood. Then use an all over wood polish (not the spray kind, drawing a blank here) and rub all over the wood to bring back the shine.

I have decided to to name her HADLEY!!!!

I have used Johnson's Paste Wax (which is supposed to be for floors) for a nice finish on wood. I usually clean wood with Murphy's Oil Soap, a great idea I got from my SIL who has beautifully restored a number of antique bookcases, dressers and such.

Don't know anything about the machine, but lucky you!
