If you ever get a thread caught in the bobbin area you will REALLY love that 15.

I keep my 15-91 set up all the time for FMQ. I don't do a lot of it because I am not very good and most of the quilts I make are simple patch quilts and work well for SITD. But I mostly do FMQ on the borders. I keep my 201 set up with walking foot for binding and use my brother cs6000i or my singer 160th anniversary for quilting because I can put them both on the large dining room table for plenty of room for the quilt to rest on.

Thanks everyone for the FMQ compliments.... I'm really not very good but I keep trying. I'm really SLOW at hand quilting, which is my favorite.

I've almost got 1/2 the quilt done..... there is so much to love about this machine. I'm sure that having it in a cabinet is helping a lot. It is so easy to move the fabric around. Of course, I waxed the machine and I think that's helping. And the most wonderful thing is that the fabric sandwich is staying so smooth.... usually I have a terrible time with tucks forming on the backing side. I've tried to adjust the pressure on the pressure foot and that didn't even help. Quilting with this machine doesn't cause any of that tucking. Everything is so smooth.... wonderful. I really love this set-up.

Oh my, Miriam, I hope I never get a thread caught in the bobbin area. After reading your reminder about cleaning out the bobbin I looked and realized that #1, I've already done that on this machine, and #2, The bobbin area is open so it really will be easy to clean it up often.

Well, I'm loving this machine so much that I'm already thinking that I might need to find a 2nd one for the winter house. Hmmm..... there are quite a few estate sales where I'm going..... I'll keep a lookout.... It's okay, I don't have as many machines as most of you and there's still space in the basement where I do most of my sewing back home.

It won't matter if you get thread caught - it just pops out - pull out the thread and pop it back together! sew easy!

I bought a walking foot for my 15-91 and I also LOVE to bind my quilt with it. I don't know why, it always end up perfect with this one and not so well with my others sewing machine.

Have to agree with you...my 15-91 and 201 are the best machines in the world for FMQ!!

Best machine ever! I have two and I use them both all the time. Nothing FM as good as the 15-91. I have had my 15-91 since 1975, my dh bought that for me for $20. I gave it away twice and it came back to me both times, never again! I don't know what I was thinking! I cried when it came back the second time. I was so thankful! So lucky!

I do FMQ with my Singers 15-90 and 237 treadles(both machines had motorectomies). They are awesome machines.
