This is Rosie, she is just a straight stitch but sews beautifully and freemotions like a dream. Made for the Henry Morgan Company, the first department store in Canada located in Montreal, Quebec.

Rosie is lovely! I remember the Morgan department store in downtown Montreal. It was later renamed The Bay. Such a lovely old-fashioned store in those days.

Where in the "wilds of Quebec" do you live? I live in the lower Laurentians.

What are the measurements of the harp: width and height? Can you lower the feed dogs? Do you know the year of manufacture?

I'm sure you'll enjoy Rosie for many years. Looks like a sturdy machine!

See the buttons on the right, most likely feed dogs up feed dogs down.

looks like she just rolled off the showroom floor!

Lovely machine. A work of art, really. I hope it is in decent working order for you.

I'm not into old machines, but this appears to be one of the best kept I've seen.

That is a beautiful machine, looks brand new. I just love the variety of colors all these vintage machines come in. Good thing I am stuck on Singers otherwise my house would be overflowing in a kaleidoscope of colored machines!

I know what you mean! I am trying to get rid of some singers to make room for a few more from japan. I will keep my 99k and 401a. What's your favorite? I hear everyone talking about the 201 singer.

Cawood Girl 06-28-2017 07:20 AM

I couldn't measure her throat space as I am away for work during the week but it is bigger than the little singers like the 185k. I bought a big industrial consew for just that reason, to put together quilts, especially the queensize ones! It's an old one but a beauty, no reverse though! For my bags the regular size ones are fine. I try and rotate to keep them all in running order.
