The longer needle may be a 20X1. They were longer than 15X1 and some old machines used them. Might need a manual
to see if the flat side goes left or right.

Minnesota A was made by several makers for Sears. Some use 15x1. Your A uses 1x2 aka Boye 10, Davis Long, and FF needles The MTx190 sub needle shank will fit in needlebar and is close enough in dimensions to work. No Minnesota A in listing to save on returns

Hi Jon, just got a Minnesota A and took her apart to clean and moving. My problem, didn't take pictures to put her back together. Do you have a diagram or something I could follow? Thanks for the manual. I want to convert her to a hand crank, I did not get a cabinet with her. Any information would be great. Thank you!!

Sewing Susie, you may have a challenge converting it to a handcrank

The most available handcrank is a repop of the Singer and it must be attached to a boss like this. If your A doesn't have it, you will need to find out who made the A and IF there are handcranks available. And also even if the boss fits is doesn't necessarily mean the crank will work on your machine.

Thanks Jon, I will check it out. Do you have a parts diagram for me to put this back together?

No schematics that would be useful. Best bet is too take pics of one area at a time like faceplate, upper tension, handwheel, shuttle area and most likely someone will be able to help, The vibrating shuittle models are generally similar to one another.
