Congrats. Very nice cabinet. I have one but it is portable. I have read all the different notes here and everyone has lots of advice. Mine is don't be a lead foot, these go very fast and you can loose control. But they are the nicest 'older' machine I have every used and just a breeze to sew with. Good luck.

Most of the 401s you will find are 401A and made in America
I have a 401G and a 411G that were made in Germany - not the same beast

Beauty! and isn't the cabinet gorgeous! I hope to find a 400 or 500 series machine this year - with a box full of cams of course! LOL (dreaming)

I was given one of these machines a few years ago and prefer it to teach quilting to my students! I was even given money to buy a new machine and they like sewing with the "old" one! Me too!!!
