This is my sewing room. I have taken a bunch of pictures.
I have two windows for the natural light I so enjoy sewing by. My design wall is lightweight purple carpet. Couldn't pass up the good deal we paid for it and it works well for what I am using it for. I collect Singer stuff, as you can see by the one shelf. My favorites are the machines and I am most blessed to have a bunch of them as well. Not enough room in here for them, so the rest of our Singers (8) reside in our living room with the other 10 machines we have. Hubby has his recliner and I have a glider/rocker. No couch or love seat. Had to have room for the machines. lol My sewing room is a wonderful place to create and most times I spend my afternoons here sewing and catching up on the quilting forum. I love my room too. I lose track of time when I am in there working. Most evenings hubby finds me in there enjoying my quiet time sewing and listening to music. So peaceful and relaxing. Looking forward to seeing your "Studio". |
What a wonderful room. I want one just like it.
|
I love your Singer collectibles!! What a great sewing room :D:D:D
|
This makes me think of my mother's Singer and my grandmother's treadle. I too have some of my mother's threads in a green Mason jar, only with a lamp conversion lid.
|
Are you sure this isn't a museam?

|

|
I enjoyed seeing your room and your vintage singers. I collect vintage singers too but I have decided that I won't collect anymore. (Too bad because I loved the 201 that you had in your pictures and I haven't collected one of those.) I have 13 vintage singers plus 3 modern machines.
|
Great pictures!
By far my favorite is the laptop computer sitting next to the vintage machine! |
I also am nuts for vintage sewing machines. Most of mine are Singers, but my first treadle was a Standard. Other than my embroidery machine, my newest sewing machine is a '70s Kenmore. Next is a '60s White I inherited from my mother. My Singers include a 2-99s, 27 treadle, 101, 201, 221, 301.
I love the fact that they are simple, sturdy, and they will likely outlast me. I got a real thrill when I tested my vintage buttonholer on my Singer 27 treadle and it worked beautifully. |

I like your room. I really like the quote framed with your piece of a quilt:
"Marriage is like an antique quilt, stitched together with love and meant to last a lifetime." May I use the quote, and make something similar for my DD, who is to be married next June? |

Please use it. So fitting for your daughter and her upcoming marriage. That framed quote was a wedding present from a friend when hubby & I married. I had not started to quilt yet when we got married. I have only been quilting a few years. Hubby & I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary in August of this year. Someone knew I would be quilting and it really fits in my sewing room. May your dear daughter be as blessed in her upcoming marriage as my hubby & I have been. God is good. Sandi |
I like your display of Singer items that you have collected.
Your room looks comfy with all those vintage machines. I like your thimble display with vintage spools of thread above. Thanks for sharing! |
