Necchi Sewing machine help.

I purchased a Necchi sewing machine recently. The plate on the bottom reads Model 301 and Serial 008779. I cannot find any information on this particular model (Year, value, etc.). Can anyone assist?

Welcome. Perhaps if you post a photo, someone may be able to help.

We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...d-t312607.html

Another way to post pictures can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/showpo...postcount=1143

Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB
Click on red "Reply" button
Click on the paper clip icon
Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post)
Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload"
After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post.

I wonder if your plate is a replacement plate from a 301 Singer machine?

I love my Necchi!

Here's a vintage Necchi site that is pretty current: https://antiques.lovetoknow.com/anti...ory-key-models. lots of pictures and links. The site says the supernovas have the most value at around $600.

I can't wait to see your machine!

yeah, this site was quite informative, from what I could tell, about everything necchi, aside from this particular machine

Newer Necchi than I am familiar with. There was an issue with an importer bringing in other machines and badging them Necchi, but I know it started before yours and may have been resolved before yours came out.

Nice looking machine. I don't remember seeing anything like it. Nor is it listed in http://freenecchisewingmachinefiles....model_list.pdf

The threading looks like it may be similar to the Lelia. Looks like it needs a new check spring.

I have an Alco distributed by the Necchi dealer Allyn International (no longer in business), that was made in Taiwan.

The drop feed is similar to many Japanese machines. I kind of doubt it, but by any chance are there any JA or JC numbers stamped or cast into the base of the machine?

I haven't seen any, the sticker on the motor says made in taiwan, but that could just be the motor

I used to belong to a Necchi Yahoo group, but when Yahoo quit groups they went to facebook or IO. I never joined when they changed.

I think there is a Necchi group for Italian only machines and then there is https://www.facebook.com/groups/274550172743404 which includes Asian made machines, too. There is also https://groups.io/g/vintagesewingmachinerepair which states "This is a forum for collectors of antique and vintage Non-Singer sewing machines" and
"This Group is not intended for the person who is only interested in selling an older machine and we do not discuss "values" of specific machines."

Should you find any additional information about your machine, I hope you will report back. I've also messaged a couple of people that may know something (neither of which are on this board, anymore) and will let you know if I get any more info.
