I have 3 red eyes, but my best one isn't as good as that one. I wouldn't mind having one in that shape either. :D

Foufymaus: Thanks!
Joe: Awh, so nice of you too say that! I want to read up on how to shine her up a little. She has a place of honor right in my new living room!!!:) |
Read these:
{ http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...s-t186522.html } { http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...ts-t97670.html } I use cotton balls or cotton make up removing pads and oil to clean them. Go gently on those decals. We all but ruined the decals on my #1 red eye because we use cleaners such as Simple Green, and others before we knew better. To make them shiny and help prevent wear I've used Kit car wax on some of them. Never use anything with any form of abrasive. Joe |
Beautiful Red Eye! I have 2 of them, lovely machines. Are you gonna do a motorectomy and treadle her?
|
Oh you have a Red Eye!!! they were the best of the best in Treadles! I have my Grammy's!! she still works too... great find, kuddos to you.........

Joe, thanks so much for the links and tips! After we get all moved, I will give her a good cleaning.
Purplefiend: Hubby has all ready done the motorectomy. Now to do the treadle graft! Lol! Girliegirl: So neat that you have one too AND it was your Grammy's! What a treasure. |
I have a Redeye 66-1 back mount treadle girlie too! I just love her after just a little TLC and tension adjustment. she sews beautifully. I named her Heidi after the little gal I got her from. You got a great deal!

I named her Nora because we just moved to Northumberland and the folks in the area call it Norry. |

I named her Nora because we just moved to Northumberland and the folks in the area call it Norry. I loved to treadle and that is why I finaly got my very own. It is so easy and relaxing to me, I hope you have lots of fun with Norry! ~Karen |
Hi.she is a very lovely 66 "redeye". Check the prices on Ebay. You got a terrific deal for a treadle. I paid that for a converted electric without a cabinet and felt it was a great price. Yours is better. Mine did have a bentwood case, but it would give you a hernia to pick it up. I am refinishing the cases and putting new decals on them. They look like fine furniture when finished. I really enjoy doing it. You will be glad you got this nice machine as they keep going up. Good job.
