I'm on the new deproved format of yahoo groups, and I can't browse more than 1 page of pictures. I've tried 3 different browsers. The photos were never searchable and now, at least for me, they're not even browse-able. But, I found a picture in the needlebar archives!

D'oh! That bar across the box looks like it might be the quilting guide! It's clearer in the NB pic. It looks like it's got a little metal tab that holds it in place.

That would be neat! Here's a picture that shows the anatomy of the "heavy" feet, and also a close up of the quilting foot. (They have a question mark regarding its function.) You can see a hole for the guide bar.

Edit: There was another auction by the same seller, with parts not original to the box, and there was a quilting bar in there, so that could also be it.

Sheila - guess who bought that second one also . . . I had not realized they were the same seller until after the auctions were over.

The Needlebar photo does not have the two screwdrivers in plate - they fit over raised areas in the lining.

I've been going after sets with different attachment types - I've got about 11 of them already - and keep finding something I've never seen before. At least having SMAD isn't that expensive - most I get for under $10. I'd be running out of room but I talked DH into taking out the dining room table and setting up my quilt frame there, so that is going to open up a lot of room upstairs in the "sewing" room. That room has a sloped ceiling, and I had one to many thread issues with the machine all the way back and in the middle of the frame - with no way more me to easily get back to turn the flywheel by hand.

The Great Sewing Machine Search starts in a few days, so I'll have to wait until I'm home before I get to play with these new toys.

That ebay one is more like what I was expecting to see, which is probably why I ignored the bar. I looked around there, and I have both of the ones that I linked to in post 7:

I can photograph them tomorrow (later today) with their original boxes if anyone wants to see them. One is from a puzzle box and the other is a metal tin.

Tammi,
The flange hemmers in your tin box -- do they attach to the bed?

Macy, Do you now have to find machines that go with the attachments? ;) Good luck on the Great Search.

It looks more like a binder to me...

Only if you're using one and have a camera handy. I think I can picture it in my mind. Thanks, though. :) One of these days I will luck into something like those or the "pin" hemmers or the slide-in hemmers. I like the idea of the ones that attach to the bed 'cause then you don't have to change feet. I wonder if the adjustable hemmer works as well or better than the individual hemmers it replaced. Maybe it handles seams better. I've never used any kind of hemmer! Measuring and folding and pinning is my least favorite task, so I really should try the adj. hemmer.
