Braid quilt on my 301 (at least this early in the morning I think it's a 301 :( )

Everything I make is on a vintage machine and come to think about it, I do not own a machine newer than 43 years old. But I love my treadles and they are the only ones I use.

Here you go...it's funny (well...not "laughing funny" but you know what I mean!) I don't see the rust with "the naked eye", but I sure see it in these pictures! Will be in there getting oil on the needle plates as soon as I post this!!

Aurora, have you ever seen the movie or BBC series House of Elliott? It is an interesting story about two sisters in England during the 1920s who opened a clothier shop. In one of the series the maid is given a handcrank and uses it... quite proficiently. It is on for about 3 minutes or so but I was very delighted when I saw. I had just purchased two handcranks. :-D

Currently, I am sewing a Jo Morton Cabin Corners quilt. I just completed the 9 - 5" squares last night and began joining the rows.

I am planning to set up a new project on my Singer 15-91 today. I do not want to let my collect dust so I am also planning to set up different projects on several machines in my collection. My husband is almost finished with the treadle cabinet copy of the Damascus' cabinet. Looking forward to getting it all cleaned up and using it for its first project.

Thanks Linda! :) This is the machine that William gave up some of the $$ he was saving for a fishing trip to buy for me... and it was a steal!! It was at a "high end" used furniture shop...we're talking a place where some of the furniture runs in the thousands of dollars...we actually went in there just to see "how the other half lives"...and there she sat. For $100.00 we brought her home where she lives in my living room...her cabinet is nearly perfect too...the treadle is missing the spooler, or bobbin winder from the irons. (It's not on the machine itself, but on one of the legs) I'm on the lookout for one of those, and I look nearly everyday for needles for both of my working treadles. :)

All of my vintage machines are dust catchers, but I am planning on putting cabinets in my sewing room and THEN I will have 2 sewing stations. I am going to whip that old 99 out and make her purr.

Well my machine is not quite vintage yet, I purchased in '77 I think. But when I get my Davis and Singer cleaned and running, you bet I will be trying them out.
