are you using it or collecting? I'm using mine! I put my Grannie's 99 clone in the treadle cabinet and am busy using it. I like the bobbin better than the shuttle of my 127. I can never get it to wind good. I'm making the memorial quilts on it. I need 4 more blocks finished and then I can put one top together. I have two rows (of 6) done on the second one. I'm having fun sewing on Grannie's machine.

I'm in the process of making a Jane Stickle quilt with my 9W, a table runner and placemats with my 201-2, I did a couple of Q4Ks on my Kenmore 185.840, and I have a lap quilt planned for William to be made on my W&W #8...*IF* I can bring myself to actually use that one! I'm so scared of messing something up on that one...the glass presser foot is something I've not seen for sale ANYWHERE, and Billy tells me that it's "museum quality", making me really nervous about scratching one of those decals! :lol:

Oh...and I'm working on a quilt for Christmas for my son and his wife...I'll most likely piece it on the 9W...and quilt it on the 201... (the cowboy in the pictures on my PDA ;) )

Charlee- I've read many of your posts about sewing machines. Since that is one thing I don't collect I promise I'll send you one if I come across any :D You crack me up!! But...... I bet they are really nice. Since joining this board I'm beginning to think it may be dangerous b/c I'm buying more and more fabric and spending less and less time on things other than quilting :D Now I run the risk of hunting for vintage machines! I am going to try this again. Last night I bought a 1910 Red Eye on ebay. I plan to convert it to a handcrank and leave it in the case. I feel very lucky to have found such a beautiful machine and I don't even have to remove the motor since it was originally a treadle. I will post a picture when it arrives at its new home. It will be shipped Monday via FedEx, so I should have it by the end of next week.

I have been looking for just the perfect machine to convert since I found out how easy it is to convert a machine to a handcrank. I am sure it will take some practice, but I plan to use it to piece quilt tops this summer.

I have some 1930's reproduction fabrics that I would like to make a quilt with on my model 66 treadle machine. I just need to find the correct bobbin and get them wound.

I've made all my quilts on 'vintage' machines...
I was using a 301 - love that machine, but switched to the 319 because I wanted something that had some fancier stitches and I don't have to drag out another machine...
If any machines are 'gathering dust' it's the Brother 2003D and Singer XL1000 - both embroidery/sewing machines
I keep threatening to dig them out of the piles of 'stuff' but so far it hasn't happened..
