So far it's a pretty small group, maybe 4 or 5 total.

I'm planning on coming, and my mother will be with me because I probably won't be up to driving. However, I am probably having allergy testing on Thursday, and my cat may be starting chemotherapy that day as well, so it is possible I might not be able to make it. If I do come I'm planning to bring the White Rotary I promised Rodney, and some other things that I'd like to give away. Might bring a machine to use. I didn't plan to bring anything food-ish, except a snack for myself because I can't eat anything I'm not sure of these days, hence the allergy testing.

It all sounds so grim, but I've really been looking forward to this! I want to be there.

Oh, I hope you can make it. Sending good thoughts your way for you and your cat.

I hope things work out where you and your mother can make it and that your cat is ok.

I hope this get-together becomes a regular occurance, because I'd sure like to be there, but have another meeting at that time.

Rodney 09-16-2014 10:56 PM

That's the intent. I'm hoping at least a few times a year if there's enough interest.

Well, I have to say that even though I live on the 'other' side of the mountains, I am jealous. It would be so much fun to get together and bring some vintage machines. I do hope y'all have fun!

I see this as only the first one. I haven't set up anything like this before in my life and am learning as I go. The next one will have better/ longer notice. This one was pretty short notice due to when the library meeting room was available.

Call the WAAAAAAbulance...
My beautiful Pacifica blew up going down our hill Tuesday. After I got over being uber cross I realized how lucky I was to not have been in the really steep parts as I'd probably be dead.
No problem, I'll drive Rob's car.
Yes problem, he is going to Ione this weekend.
Still haven't heard back from McCords, I must have Really broken it.

So I will be with you all in spirit, an enormous hug for Rodney and Olivia, and I'll be with you next time.

I was going to bring seedless grapes ;) and my handcrank, let you all help me get over long bobbin hysteria.

I'm sorry to see this. I'm sorry you can't make it but happy you're ok. I hope the repairs are quick and not too expensive.

I loaded the car last night with room to spare. I'm not bringing the treadle base, just the head. I was afraid if I put the base in the trunk I wouldn't have room for everything else. Now I have lots of room left but I'm not doing it over again. See everyone soon!:):sew:

I'm just leaving now. Something i should have mentioned. The meeting room is on the ground floor next to the children's section.
See you soon.

Well, I don't know if we're going to make it either. I'm doing ok, but my Pumpkin is not feeling very well. His chemo went well, but the effects are really hitting him today. Going to give him another hour and see how he does. If I can come, I'll probably be there around 1 pm or so.

As I was writing, he jumped in a laundry basket and started playing with his tail, so he might be ok to leave for a couple of hours.

Cari-in-Oly 09-20-2014 09:09 AM

Cats can be amazing in their resilience. I hope he feels well enough for you to come.

you guys have fun and please post pics as we would love to connect the faces to the names.

KalamaQuilts 09-20-2014 03:42 PM

yes pictures I hope! I've been there in spirit!

Rodney 09-20-2014 07:09 PM

Sorry, I forgot my camera and I'm really regretting it. A bunch of really beautiful machines showed up as well as their owners.
I also want to thank everyone who attended today. It's the people that make a get together like this a success. This was a huge success to me. I met a bunch of truly wonderful people today including a couple non-members that I'm hoping will join.
Thank you again everyone. We'll be doing this again.

I don't want to post pics of people until I know it's alright with everyone. I only got a few, should have took more. It was an amazing day with amazing people(Olivia included) and some amazingly cool machines. Thank you, thank you Rodney for setting this up.

Rodney 09-20-2014 11:26 PM

You can post mine and Liv's. I'm kind of hard on the eyes though.

Yes, it was an awesome yesterday to actually put faces to names. I also did forget to bring my camera. Wish I had because there were some VERY NICE & UNUSUAL sewing machines that attended with their owners. It is so much fun to ooh and aaah over someone elses sewing machine. Rodney did a great job of setting this first get together in such a short time. Cari, you can also post my pictures. And I must mention that Rodney's Olivia is a wonder. I enjoyed meeting her.

monopas 09-21-2014 11:15 AM

Cari, if you've got anything with me in, I'm fine with it being posted.

Even though I got there late and didn't get to really meet everyone, I had a great time! All the shiny, pretty machines! Mine are so dull in comparison. I do wish I'd had more of a chance to get a look at the National Two-Spool someone brought.

I'm so looking forward to doing this again.
