Quest-Beyond a "Straight Stitch" Treadle

If you were to select the best machine that would fit into a Singer treadle and sew more than a straight stitch, what would it be? Why would you choose it?

I've found a collector that is willing to keep an eye out for specific machine heads. I love to treadle but space warrants keeping only one treadle available at a time. Straight stitching is grand but I need more!!! Suggestions and opinions please!

I'd put my Alden SUZ-2 ZZ with 60+ patterns built in in a treadle.

Beautiful straight stitches and all the fancy stuff you might need.

Go for one of the 4XX G or K models... most of them can be treadled.

You could post this question on the main Vintage Sewing machine thread. There are quite a few regulars there who treadle multi stitch machines .

Candace, the reason I didn't post there was simple. I didn't want to be a "thread hog" as my husband puts it! This way, I figure the folks that want to offer suggestions will and those with other interests won't have to read through my posts.

Joe, I'd put your Alden in a treadle too!!! Wow!! That is amazing! Who made it? I'm not married to Singers. Variety is the spice of life.

I don't know who made it. It's a Japanese machine. I've been unable to find an owners manual for it, or even any mention of the Alden name. Adler is as close as I can get.

WOW! So that thread has "thread hogs" on it...and that is why you do not wish to post.

Well, I must be one of those "thread hogs" since I post lots on that thread that Candace was referring to for you to post this question.

Redbugsullivan, Enjoy your hunt!
