I'm sure leon, LOL. Your New Home vertical shuttle looks great. The 128 I used was in flawless condition, black and probably a converted hand crank. It clicked along nicely, different sound than a 66 or 201, stable and light running.

I can’t seem to get the faceplate off my 128-23. Any ides appreciated. The machine runs beautifully but can’t get to the shuttle.

Marti1943 I think there is a communication issue. Faceplates cover the needlbar and presser foot bars. Your shuttle is under a slide in the bed. Generally if they are stuck a bit of sewing machine oil along the edges will help. Top and bottom. Yea. holding it upside down isn't fun. but may be necessary. Then I try to run a thumbnail along the edges where the slide touches the base. If that doesn't work after a could of days I'll take a kabob skewer or a chopstick, cut them off square and gently tap the notch in the slide with the skewer nudged gently by a little hammer.

Spray can oil along the edge of the slide plate can help, if possible, don't get it on the decals, triflow should seep in there too.

Thank you for the info. I will try again to remove the slide.

I have a set of brass punches and a brass hammer that I use when my slide plates need an extra nudge. The brass does not damage the slide plate. (gentle nudge)

I have an aluminum punch but I like to use the skewers first. Brass is great.
