Singer 15-91 selling for $1300...

I think we've discussed this item previously. Can someone tell us what's going on? Is it a shill type operation?

I don't know but if I had a machine to sell I'd let that seller do it for me.

I can't believe it myself. I have a 15-91 in a cabinet that my dh brought 39 yrs ago for me from a neighbor for $20. I wouldn't part with it, but gee. I just can't believe it! Glad I am not the buyer, even though I love my Singer 15's.

P.s. I think I seen I all now!

just this past summer I bought a 15-91 for $15. lol

I paid $40(?) for mine (if memory serves). Having read the prices you all have paid, I feel like a complete and utter chump.

Cogito 02-02-2015 06:39 PM

Something just isn't right here. It still even has the old aluminum wiring which definitely should be replaced before any serious use. Also although it is clean, for that price it should have been immaculate and yet the metal surfaces still show evidence of "tarry" old oil on most of those surfaces. I don't get it.......and I don't believe it. But shill bidding? I'm pretty naive....won't the seller have to pay the EBay fees....which would be in the $100 range wouldn't it?

xxxxxxxxxx 02-02-2015 07:32 PM

it sure would be in that range higher, some sellers ain't that bright.it's bogus look at the bids

well now we can sell ours, saying these sell for 1525 $ on ebay, be telling truth

mlmack 02-02-2015 07:54 PM

I would have been out at $20.

I don't know what sort of funny business is going on with auctions like these, but nobody is legitimately buying a 15-91 for $1525. Some folks say there is money laundering involved, but I wouldn't know anything about that.

I paid $10.00 for mine. It was a beater and needed wiring and worked on.

Whoever paid that amount got fleeced.

Looking at the bids, there is something rotten there. Why would anyone keep upping the bid when no one else has bid? I wonder if eBay ever investigates.
