Thanks for the presser feet links, very interesting stuff. The presser bar spring on this machine was actually under pressure all the time, even with the screw all the way up. Fortunately I had another spring to swap in while doing a more detailed cleaning. That may have made a difference too.

I'm glad that you got it to not skip stitches. When I first saw this thread and the picture, it seemed to me that the pressure regulator seemed a little higher than it should be. Ah ha! Another light bulb moment. I would never thought of doing this when storing a machine. I would need to leave a sticky note to remind myself with the machine!
