I think they are camping under the sewing machines
I even saw a fairy ring and I know what caused it.

Do your sewing machines ever get decorated?
I like this one a lot...

she likes to help clean up the old machines. She especially loved it when we got it looking and working top notch.

She helped me get it working and then she sewed - the first time ever to sew a maze and she did it perfectly! Then she did dot to dot. She got busy with fairies but I can see where we will be making a quilt one day soon.
oops I forgot a picture - she dis-assembled the tension and laid the parts in perfect order on a magnet strip! This gal gets it!!!

There isn't enough money to buy the entertainment of having your own DGKs stay over night and use their fertile imaginations with junk on hand.
There isn't enough money to buy the entertainment of teaching your own DGKs a life skill that will be with them when they have DGKs of their own.
But they sure do wear me out...

No fairies here. Just gnomes. They keep running of with my stuff and moving it around when I'm not looking.
Stupid gnomes....
Rodney

miriam 03-23-2014 03:22 PM

The gnomes show up when the fairies are not around. go figure. I could send some fairies to you...
I like your singer 99 quote in your signature.

Amythyst02 03-24-2014 04:25 AM

Thanks for sharing your delightful day with your DGK's. It looks like they had such a wonderful day, transforming your sewing machines into happy homes for the fairies.

QuiltMom2 03-24-2014 04:28 AM

Are your gnomes cousins to the gremlin that has taken my thimble holder???

Very likely - you need a few fairies but then again fairies are partial to thimbles and thimble holders. They might just hold flowers. Look under the flowers...

nanna-up-north 03-24-2014 05:16 AM

Oh my.... so much fun. You are so lucky to have your DGKids close enough to play with them often. Mine are close to 1000 miles away and I only see them about once a year. ..... in a couple of months we're going to go for a visit.... my DGS is graduating from college and my DD is finishing up her degree to become a midwife. And.... I get to play with my great-granddaughters...... Yeah!!

deplaylady 03-24-2014 05:20 AM

So cute! Flower Fairies are a favorite here too.Although, I've never had them invade in such numbers.

orangeroom 03-24-2014 05:28 AM

Mirium, wow! What busy girls you have! You also have just a few sewing machines! Cute fairies!

miriam 03-24-2014 05:31 AM

We went to the Goodwill outlet - they sell the junk by weight - anyway - I remembered making flowers years ago. SSSOOOO I told the girls they could each buy a couple flowers. They loaded up a tote bag FULL of flowers and then looked at me with big eyes. LOL The flowers were cheap and I figured we could throw them away. The girls have spent HOURS making the fairies and then playing with them. Some times they take them apart and remake them. At one point we ran out of heads and pipe cleaners. They are easy enough to do - just pull the stems off the flowers, string the flowers on pipe cleaners any way you like and make sure to put a bead (head) on - flowers and flower parts make collars, hats, hair, etc. Any combination you like. At first I thought they had a random huge big disaster mess... Then I figured out fairies were camping everywhere. They had weddings and funerals and went camping at the beach. What ever. One went on vacation to Japan. They like it that fairy houses have lights some times.

I realize not everybody has DGKs close - I have 1 I may never see again unless someone goes after her for contempt of court and two in Seattle which is a long way from Indy.

I'm not sure if I have more fairies or more sewing machines in there.

tropit 03-24-2014 06:35 AM

I wish the fairies would build me a shop. :)

Ah ha! I think I see in one of your pix, her royal highness, the young, ever-loverly, "Princess Fairy!"

~ Cindy

miriam 03-24-2014 06:39 AM

Yes the other royal highness princess is there, too. She is a bit camera shy.
They discovered the Queen's birthday salute video and now I fear they want soldiers.

Rodney 03-24-2014 06:46 AM

Miriam that signature is very appropriate for the 99 I've been tinkering with. I laughed when I saw it. The other 99 I have is all gummed up with dried oil too though it seems to have been stored somewhere drier at least. I think both will be good machines when I'm done.
Rodney

The gummed up oil is good in a way - once it is off and re-oiled the machine should be good to go for a very long time. Some times it is a lot of work getting the gummed oil off... Worry about the moving parts...

Some fairies camped under chairs, too. I'm pretty sure those flowers weren't just dumped - they were arranged in some meaningful way...
All the fairies went back home yesterday now the gremlins and gnomes are back at it fighting over the screwdrivers and scissors.

Glenn 03-24-2014 03:44 PM

At least you have fairies, I have gremlins that come out and play with my machines while I sleep. The really like the treadles I have open and have been sewing on and leave them that way until the next sewing session. Sometimes the play with the tension or throw thread all over the floor. I was told to leave a piece of chocolate on the machine bed for them and they will leave the machine be. I will have to try this. LOL

lots2do 03-24-2014 04:33 PM

Oh, what fun. I would have loved that when I was little. Heck, I'd love it now if I had some little girl relatives to do it with. So glad you got the big bag of flowers. Aren't they all, fairies included, lucky to have you.

Cogito 03-25-2014 06:44 AM

Oh what fun and what a wonderful gramma you are! Wish my grandchildren were close. :( Thanks for sharing. It was fun to see all of their happiness.

Um I can arrange for a couple fairies to visit your machines...

kiffie2413 03-25-2014 02:20 PM

I need some of those fairies to visit here, what a way to brighten a day!!!
My lil granddaughter loves to craft with me, when she's a lil bit older I can't wait for all the fun I know we will have sewing with my machines. Right now she likes to sit on my lap and "help" with my sewing.
