Husquvarnas make that job look easy. Mine is set up with an industrial motor.

I like how my original post turned into a discussion of machines that do heavy-duty work! I usually use my 401K to do that kind of sewing (in fact, I named it Work Horse), but I didn't want to drag the boat cover upstairs. I've done all kinds of things on the 401A...electronic equipment cases, straps on a set of tree climbers, canvas Bible covers, baffles on the skirt of a hovercraft, and stabilizers for a parachute. I've owned the machine since 1981 and it has never been serviced (except by me and DH...he put new brushes on the motor once).

Don't worry, folks, I was extremely careful...no sewing machines were harmed in the production these items! :)
