anyone able to read this name or recognize this machine?

Might say "Politype"

Clearly a Singer 29 relative... ... or an Adler

Yep! I just found that! Thank you. I am not sure I want to buy this one but it is a very old unit.... I am not sure I want to be responsible for it with potential damage in shipping and such.....

steveh, of course you want it. what's adding one more NICE machine to your already NICE collections. you got to have it. :)

nope. I am pretty comfortable having just one "representative" machine. (I have a Singer 29-4 from 1904)
It is only on certain brands that I am trying to "complete the set" as it were.... but this is cool...

This is very cool....but I hear you on not wanting to worry about shipping damages, etc.

SteveH 01-22-2014 05:20 PM

Probably not going to get this one. The seller wants at $300 for it....

yeah, after my first damaged arrival, i started getting more cautious about what i have shipped. If the person has a clue then I might take the chance, but most folks have no idea how to do it safely.

That is why I did one trip from SF to Los Angeles for a Howe B treadle and a Wheeler Wilson #4 Treadle, one trip to Walla Walla Washington for the Grover & Baker, and One trip up to "gold country" (Sierra Foothills) for the Phoenix F treadle. No way I was having those shipped.
