I'd be real tempted at half the price, them decals are unusually nice, usually there pretty far gone. Strange they didn't mention it was a Davis.

Jon

If you wanted it, I would store it for you til you could do a road trip to collect her.

Argh! That's not an antique, it might not even be a Singer. (The bed is stamped singer, but the machine has no serial number on the bed. The decals are not original, power plug isn't original and what's that dial on the front?)

This is the guy he likely bought it from:

Way to destroy a machine. :(

A Vintage Bicentennial 15? If it's from the future, doesn't that by definition not make it vintage?

For $1000, I would think they could brush the dust off the front -and- the back:

It looks like he's taken a 15 clone, spray painted it black, printed a vinyl type red S singer badge for it, and created fake sphinx decals for it. I dont recall ever seeing singer make a "super singer". Wouldn't this technically be a copyright infringement by using the singer name?

ArchaicArcane 07-26-2012 07:48 PM

I think it is,... I wonder if he gets away with it because it's a "seller refurbished" item. *shrugs* I dunno.

They're both repros made by Singer....so they're legal.
