I kind of like this Brother machine ;) ...it sort of looks like my Atlas machine (bought it from Billy) that was manufactured by the Brother co.

Here is one for ya:

And another....only $1000!!

They may be nice, but come on!!!!! Are you kidding me? :D

Bennett 01-07-2012 03:18 PM

Just saw this one in my area for the 2nd time. I think the old fence panels add to the ambiance.

1951 was a good year.

JMCDA 01-07-2012 03:24 PM

a white treadle like one of Charlee's listings was at the auction today, I didn't stick around to see what it went for (have 2 already) but I am sure it was under 25 knowing the crowd

I like that old Brother too - but not for that price...and I would rather have a funky old Morse

wuv2quilt 01-07-2012 03:28 PM

Here;s a few more from my area....North Carolina

Oh, and if I wanted to travel, I could pick up this 201. Oops, I mean the "15k88." http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/for/2784563956.html. Plus it has one of those rare and expensive button holers.

But, if you're looking for something portable, have I got a deal for you! http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/atq/2780368780.html.

Umm...I just don't see how you could convert a sewing machine into a pottery wheel? http://dallas.craigslist.org/mdf/art/2779149122.html.

dellareya 01-07-2012 03:42 PM

I think some of these sellers are out of touch with reality.

Easy-peasy!! You just turn the machine on end and build your pottery on the handwheel as it turns! ~snicker~ I love the pricing... $429.25...does that include tax?

sharon b 01-07-2012 03:53 PM

Definitely priceless- Thanks I needed the laughs :)

I wonder if they ever sell any- or get any nibbles ?

cabbagepatchkid 01-07-2012 04:15 PM

$400.00 for a Singer 15-91 that is actually a Featherweight....haha!!!

Now that bit about converting it to a pottery wheel is hilarious!!!

deplaylady 01-07-2012 07:19 PM

Gee, maybe I could convert my pottery wheel into a sewing machine...
And the person that list the FW as a 15-88 and just had it serviced? Something not right there - wouldn't the shop correct the person about what they had? So either - wasn't taken to a shop or don't take your machine to that shop!

Caroline S 01-07-2012 09:22 PM

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/atq/2780675636.html

If this machine is very old, then I am ancient! Hah!!!

Yooper32 01-08-2012 04:12 AM

OK, people, don't be bidding up that $1,000 one. I have dibs on it.

luvstitches 01-08-2012 05:18 AM

Oh these are sooooo funny! I am belly laughing! At first I clicked on the first set of four and couldn't figure out what was so funny until I went back and looked at the prices!

This one has been popping up for several months now, and they've never lowered the price on any of it. Stupid spray paint. :(

Here's some treasures for your enjoyment. Chicago Craig's list.

Great gift idea!!
http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/atq/2787914616.html

I think this one takes the cake especially since it's being sold by an ANTIQUE DEALER!! Sorry ... "so called antique dealer".
http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/atq/2783301308.html

Oh PLEASE! Needs belt, dusty, "storage" people took pic. No word about if it works but listed in "Excellent Condition". Seriously??
http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/atq/2782613077.html

Grannyh67 01-08-2012 02:41 PM

I think some people don't know the difference and think we are stupid enough to pay the price. They might find some one who is not in the know to buy one. I hope most people are smarter that that. I got a big laugh out of the prices, way too high. I look on ebay a lot and CL, finds some god and some bad, lol
