"A Zinger? Wow, they got ripped off if there's any truth at all to what they're saying[/QUOTE]"

I am not 100% sure, but I -think- that maybe in parts of Central/Eastern Europe, they called Singer as Zinger, wo cause the pronunciation to more resemble how 'Singer" sounds in English. A simple 's' sounds as 'sh' in many languages in that part of the world, whereas a 'z' sounds often as a "ts", or closer to an 's' anyhow.

Again, I am not certain, but it is not the first time I have seen the word Zinger.

It is also possible that it is a knock off... As Shorpie pens made in China mimicking Sharpie pens, and drying out after one use...

Well the other thing is that the machine clearly says "EuroPro" ;)

I have a neighbor that calls them "Stingers".... but he also told me he was taking his pregnant wife to menopause classes....

When we went to Mexico a few years ago and went on the tour to a "Mayan village", the tour guide called them Sin-Jers ,... as in I've singed myself.... ... At first I thought he was talking about a serger,... then we saw the treadle.

I believe that Euro-Pro machine is just a modern interpretation of a vintage Singer treadle machine and probably made in China.

Considering that you can get the real deal for $100 or less, the seller is dreamin' at that price for a simulacrum.
