Beautiful 66 Lotus, Elsie! I wish the decals on mine were in that good condition. I looked up your serial number, and found it was one of the many instances of errors in the Singer records. It says your machine is a 15K! Obviously, not.

Thank you for sharing pics. Your Ruby is a beauty, too. I've not seen that one before.

Oops, my mistake on Elsie's 66... Glenn is right. The records do show it's a 66 made in 1916. (I skipped a digit!) Can't blame Singer this time!

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who has trouble reading numbers. If I could remember where my specs are half the time I would have no problem  Glenn

sewbizgirl - looks like you got the hay brushed off. Can't wait to see how she cleans up. Is it a Centennial model? Looks like a faint blue under the junk on the emblem.

I have one that has blue on the emblem, too, and it's not a Centennial.

It's sort of like when you find a stray dog and you open your car door in they jump right in

Elsie, both your machines are gorgeous. The Ruby is perfectly named and the Lotus is very pretty.

FarmStitcher, the Ruby that goosepoint bought and I may buy tomorrow are not badged machines. They are New Home (Janome's predecessor). Ruby is the model name. You don't have to guess on that one - she wears it proudly. Without Billy, I'd never know what my 128's name. She was just a little black Singer machine with a serial number.

I am getting excited about my grandson's wedding, but also about seeing my possible machine. I have enlisted a SIL to go with me to help load her.

1)called "Automatic". The seller hasn't sent a serial number or details yet. I've searched on line & cannot find anything labeled "Automatic". The pic shows the name across front of machine head - where one would see "Singer" written.
Haven't a clue as to its value, if parts are available, etc. He wants $100.00, but we could probably get it for a little less, since we'd drive 1 1/2 hrs to pick it up & the cabinet is worn. I'm hesitant because wonder if I could find parts. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Here's the link :

and another possibility: 2) Vesta, again, a name I don't know, for $90.00. Anyone have info to help me decide? Thanks.

I found someone to transport it up 7 to 8 hrs away, for $25.00. What do you think?

Go for the Vesta!
