Just want to share the project I was working on yesterday while chatting (or should I say babbling away) with all of you. I started the layout in morning and pieces sewn together by midnight. Just need to sew rest of strips together. This is going on the back of a quilt that I'm working on right now. Piecing done with my Singer 201.

Monica, that quilt back is so cute!!

I love those fabric bowls!!! Did you make them? If so how? I would love to make one too!

Yes, I made them and many more that I gave as gifts. You can buy patterns for fabric bowls but I'm more of a get the graph paper out and make my own. I love doing that. You use heavy pellon, maybe called Timtex. Satin stitch around the center bottom then start adding 'petals' and when they are all done, you satin stitch around the top of the bowl. They are alot of fun and you can just go nuts on designing them for whatever size you want.

Thanks! I can't take credit for this design. I found it while googling quilt backs. I was looking for a design for the back that would use up the remaining 2x2s that I had leftover from the front. Funny thing is that I still have squares...those dang squares must multiple in the tin box that I have them in when I'm not looking. Anyway, looks like I will be using those remaining squares in a future scrappy quilt.

He got the little man quilt for his 2nd birthday today - studied it a bit and said BOO (BLUE) - hugged it and wouldn't let anybody look at it. I think maybe he likes it.

I learned something new today from you! Never heard of pellon or Timtex; had to google them.
:) I'm going to have to read up on this project. Looks doable! Thanks!

I love seeing little kids hugging their quilts. That's a very special quilt that should last him a very long time!

So before placing a bid on that 15 clone on Ebay I sent a message to the seller asking if they would consider shipping vis UPS rather than USPS & how would they be packaging the machine for shipping in order to avoid damage. Here's their reply:

"I guess I would consider UPS. I've never been asked that. Why does it matter? I was just going to pack it in a box with shipping paper. I'm not too concerned with damage as it is in it's own sturdy case."

So Eek! What would you do? The seller has a 99.6% positive feedback.

How much is this going to cost you? for machine and shipping. And case, he means the hard top that covers the machine.I guess it just depends on how badly you want this machine.
