Nancy,
Here is a Hale's Crescent for sale down in LA: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst...689641151.html Does your cabinet and irons look like this? Those irons are Davis; they look just like mine. Drawer handles look like the ones on my Davis cabinet too. Here is a picture of the cabinet my Davis Vertical Feed came in (after we re-finished it). The irons look similar, but the cabinet is different than my Hales Cresent. Nancy |

Since they didn't come with check springs, I wonder if they came with the bobbin winder guide. National Two Spools didn't come with a bobbin winder guide. Nancy |

Yes the cabinet and irons (I believe) look just like that. I'd have to go out to our storage unit to look for sure, but it sure looks the same to me! Geeze, none of us heard of a Hales Crescent before this week, now there are 3 of them! Here is a picture of the cabinet my Davis Vertical Feed came in (after we re-finished it). The irons look similar, but the cabinet is different than my Hales Cresent. Nancy Jon |
Well Nancy that is a real cute little quilt! Just too cute to pass up. Thanks for the info, going to the list!

Monica that little wall hanging above the 319w on my Murphy Bed is one of the Patchability patterns. I used my 1961 Rocketeer 503A and metallic thread to create a (sort of) tension assembly. I did all the decorative stitches with the 503a! It was a fun little project! But, the 'Singer" name was done on my Pfaff embroidery (very modern) machine! Nancy |

Heehee, I drove 1 1/2 hours one way to pick up the Two Spools in the parlor cabinet. On that rescue, I spent the day in Salinas and had lunch since I had never been to Salinas. I believe Miz Johnny has stories of traveling even farther for a machine...or maybe that was her friend that traveled across the US. What 2 machines are you getting? And I'm sure you have room for another machine! Go for it! Quiltncowgirl and I are doing a trade....you might remember I have the cabinet that goes to her Singer VS2...my 66 Lotus was sitting in it. I debated with myself for weeks over it, and decided that I could find another cabinet I liked, have her buy it, and then swap so she can have the VS2 cab back. So we're doing that trade. Plus, I found some irons in her area to make a base for my Davis VF to be in so I can treadle my old girl....she's ready...all cleaned up, oiled and ready. So, my DH is going to put a wood top on the irons and custom rout it out to fit. So, that's 2. And with the first treadle base I am swapping with her, I get the bonus of a 1956 Singer 15 (I think!). So....too much to do this weekend. Can't go after the other machine. Too many projects!! :) |
Picot Hemstitcher
OK, lets see if I have this right.... If I want a picot hemstitcher for either my 99 or 222, it will work for both, but I would need different cover plates for each. Are the cover plates very easy to get? How expensive are they? I think I still want one, but would have to be sure I can get the cover plates to work with them.
