Thanks everyone for good info. I have color catchers so I will just wash in my front loader and put it the dryer(I will not bake it lol) this is what I hoped you guys would tell me I really don't like the work envolved in the bathtub washing of quilts(I will save this for the antique quilts I have). This quilt is well used so the washing machine will save me work.

It says 'Antique Singer Treadle,... and goes on to say 'no interior parts'. That means no machine in the cabinet!!

I've been absent from this thread for a bit due to life issues along with work related real work stuff. Had 20+ pages to read up and it has been interesting.
Went to a garage sale today and picked up a treadle from the next-door neighbor. It was his mothers. I believe it is a Singer 27, it's a treadle and all the decals are silvered which actually doesn't bother me too much. It is intact including both slide plates and the puzzle box full of attachments plus some other things. Drawers don't sit correctly and I just chalked it up to age. However, as the guy and I are m oving it from the unheated huge garage towards the light and my van, I realize why it seemed a bit off. It is a Singer machine and possibly cabinet but on Sear, Roebuck & Co. treadle base and one of the drawers had some red wire holding it to the machine so it's unique. The guy said his mother used it all the time and had bought it new in the same cabinet so I don't know how the 2 got married but I did doubt "brand new" when purchased. Somebody also put contact paper (or something else sticky(wallpaper??)) on the top of the cabinet. The design is of large roses or some sort of flower.
In the puzzle box is an attachment which has about 4 or so arms coming out of the body of the attachment. Anyone know what that one is? Never seen one before in person.

Another question:

Ran across a Pfaff 297 today with no price tag. Seller has no idea how much to ask except that $$$$$ talks with her and she was asking me if I could give her a reasonable price. It does have some attachments with it and comes in a carrycase cabinet in which you can also store spools of thread. It did have plastic bobbins with it but the garments showed were from the 60s (guessing there) and it is a reasonable weight. It was manufactured in Western Germany so she says it must be valuable and/or historical. That means money in her eyes.
Same seller also has a lovely???? Touch n Throw (SEW) 626 which she is selling for a reasonable price of $100. Uh huh and you can have almost any of my machines for that price and I'd be happy too. She wasn't happy when I wasn't interested and told her that many serious sewers do not like that series of machines and $30 was a more reasonable price. Did have the manual and the zipper foot but no other attachments and came in a cabinet.
