"I cannot find the Liquid Gold in a pour bottle anywhere in this State. Where did you find this product? Thanks."
I found mine at Lowes in the cleaning supplies. Be sure you get the pourable one and not the spray. |

Is the Liquid Gold just for the cabinet? After cleaning this machine, it looks pretty dull. I found Part 2 and part 3 or the tutorial, is there a part 1? Thanks! Nancy Yes there is a part one right here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-45816-1.htm Billy Billy |

He lives in Western Pa and wanted to get rid of some of his machines. I emailed him and told him my situation. I was looking for a singer 66 or 15 to use as physical therapy as I am disabled. I told him that I had a Domestic but that I didnt not want to use it for therapy work as it is old and hard to find needles and parts for. Well Chuck and his wife were the NICEST people I have met in a long time. I came home with 3 machines and here they are my new babies and I love them They are all singer 66's but I dont know what number The back tack is more than likely a 66-16 and the Red Eye is a 66-1. Liquid Gold is for the machine also, it will not hurt the finish and make it glossy ans have a high luster.
Yes there is a part one right here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-45816-1.htm Billy[/quote] Found it! I have not taken any of my 4 treadles apart like you did, though! I take it when the decals are turning silver that the shillac (or whatever is on top is gone)? Between my DH and myself, we have cleaned up the Singer 27, 1901 about as good as it will ever be. She looks so much better. My DH just screwed the cabinet back together and took out all the toe nailed nails. The middle drawer is missing, but now it looks as if the cabinet is complete -- you just can't put the machine down -- nothing to hide it. I just love these old machines and the cabinets are so ornate! Billy or whomever, on your Singer 27's is there a tension spring? It appears my machine is complete except for that and I am not sure it ever had one? Can I use a regular Schmetz needle? I am ready to see if it will sew! Nancy |
