Billy They are all metal but I did notice one thing One of the bobbins has holes in it (like a 15 but not) and the other bobbin has only one tiny hole. I will have to set the 66-1 back up to see if maybe it likes one over the other as I dont remember what one I had in there. Now the 66-16 will take both and sews wonderful with both styles of bobbins I Do have to say! I just finishes quilting my first quilt on a treadle and I can say I am hooked! I love it. So much better then my speedy machines in my other room. I couldnt get the hang of free motion on it but even without a walking foot it did a nice straight line without puckers. I used the 66-16 I am having one problem with the 66-16 the bobbin slide plate wont stay shut. Its not catching on the right side groove. Will it hurt if I dont have it closed all the time? |

Abby,
The bobbins that have lots of holes is for a class 15 machine, not for your model 66. You need the one that is slightly domed and has just 2 holes; one in the center and a little one on both sides. |

Billy Thats what it is. I knew it wasnt a 15 thats why I said like a 15 but not. It works in the 66-16 machine. Maybe that was what was in the 66-1 machine and she didnt like it. Touchy old thing I can hear what she is saying now "gotta have a bobbin with years on it those young knock offs never know what they are doing " The machines are down stairs the computers are upstairs with my disability its not a simple go down and look sorry if I get confusing |
I have a Singer 201 and the light switch is going on and off. Do you know if they sell replacement switches?
