This is an older machine trying to pull itself out of retirement. I used it in college to sew a down winter jacket kit (without issue!) So, decades later, the plug for the light shorted. The plugs are not made for replacement. Are there any suggestions for replacing the plug with current parts?
Thanks for any suggestion? I hate to put this girl in permanent retirement!

Welcome. I'm guessing that the plug you are referring to is a motor cord block type as seen at https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Pow.../dp/B07322CVZD and https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/po...and-motor.aspx
I would not try plugging the light in until someone familiar with electrical stuff looks at it. I'm not electrically inclined, but John is and he said that he may be able to tell if it was the plug itself or if it was in the wiring for light by the spark pattern.

The block cord like those in the links above would need to have the foot controller wired before plugging the motor plug in and then into the wall outlet.

The part needing to be replaced is the light cord plug from the machine. I question if I can find a plug to replace the plug that shorted or will the entire wiring need to placed? The motor plug remains functional.
Thanks for you suggestion(s).

I'm not sure what you are asking. There should be two plugs from the machine. One is for the light and the other for the motor which plug into the outlet at the side of the machine (like the links in my previous post). If the motor plug remains functional, then I would just use the machine and a desk lamp behind the machine. The plug could be replaced with something like https://www.amazon.com/Leviton-101-W.../dp/B000FP8HX2 or https://www.lowes.com/pd/Project-Sou...e-Plug/4068215 Although I would have someone check the wiring first.
