My sister found this machine in her garage and sent me this picture. Does anyone know what model it is? She's at work so can't give me any info from it. Thanks for your help.

maybe a singer 401?

Looks kind of like the Singer 401 I learned to sew on (my mom's machine) but it's a little hard to tell from that angle.

I too think it looks like a 401. It sure is in nice shape.

I got my grandmother's 401 when she passed away...she used it up until the day she died....

I'd say Singer 401 too.

I think it's a 403 because I have a 401A and this one has a few more gadgets on it different from the 401A. Just my opinion though...

I am not an expert, but I have 2 Singer 401A's, and they don't have the little deck extension that folds up like this one.

frugalfabrics 12-23-2010 07:09 PM

good point...I didn't notice the deck extension.
