Where to buy? Lens & spring for spotlight lamp (Singer 99/185)

I have been searching online but I can't find these anywhere!

I need the lens and the spring that goes behind it, for a Singer 99 or 185 "spotlight" style lamp.

I might just be using the wrong words in my searches? I can find entire replacement LAMPS, but they're the wrong style and the lamp parts I already have are perfectly fine, I just need the lens and the spring that holds it in place.

Are there specific words for those parts other than "lens" and "spring"? Or are these just not very easy to find?

I don't care if it's new, used, or repro, as long as it works!

Can you post a pic? I just might have one.

Sewnoma,

I need one too. Our 185K came with a hole burned through the top of the housing. If I could find one with a broken mount area I could fix mine.

The only one I have found to date was a complete unit on eBay. I missed it so I'm still looking.

As far as just the lens and spring I've never seen any loose for sale.

Those lights will work OK without the lens in it.

Here's a complete lamp:

I just need the lens, and the round springy washer-shaped piece of metal that goes behind it.

It's for a 99K I'm restoring; it had its lamp snipped off at some point in its past. I won a lamp on eBay for $10 but its missing the lens and spring.

I know it'll work without it, I just want it to be complete. And I like how the lens looks.

I've read that the lens actually traps a lot of heat (maybe I read that here somewhere?) I should look for LED bulbs to fit these lamps.

Those lenses are hard to find! I think many were broken or lost when the lamp was replaced. I wish you luck in finding one. You'll have to be persistent!

Sewnoma - did you ever find your lamp parts? I'm also wondering if the LED bulbs will fit inside these lamps.

I have a two Singer 99s, one with the lens, the other without. The one with the lens has the instruction booklet and I don't see any mention of a "springy thing". The instructions read " to remove the bulb, first remove the lens from the spotlight shade by turning the lens to disengage the lugs on the lens from the lugs on the inside of the shade and the lens will drop out". I notice that the lugs barely keep the lens in place, in fact the lens was in the accessories box. So if there is a part that holds that in better, do you have a photo? I can't find a schematic for the spotlight model only the tubular-shaped housing.

Until you find one on eBay I would recommend that you get some Bondo at the auto parts store to repair the hole, fill and sand. Go to Home depot and ask them match the paint color for a sample jar $3.00. Get an led replacement lamp at Amazon for $5.00.
