White model 658 30170
Hi,
I'm new here so don't really know what I'm doing. Today I purchases a White 658 30170 but can not find any information on it, such as an owners manual or anything. Am I doing something wrong? Hope it was not a mistake in buying this one... Can anyone help? Thanks Debbie |
You can find manuals on the Singer site under the support tab. You need to enter W plus the model number. This is the page that came up when I tried https://www.singer.com/search/suppor...le=W 650 30170
If that is not the manual, someone may be able to identify the model if you post a picture. Hope this helps. |
Thank You so much. Dumb ole me never thought to look under 650....I was using the 658...duh...thank you again!!!

A picture might help, besides we like pictures :) Does it look like https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...t-t280598.html If it does, than it would be what is called a 15- clone. You can read about them.at https://www.quiltingboard.com/pictur...p-t164361.html Also, if it is a 15-clone, it is a machine that does well for FMQ. Looks like a 3/4 size Japanese clone of a Singer 15. Lots of info on the clones. I'm a bit jealous.

Thank you for the info. Maybe with this I can find something showing me how to thread it. Please don't be jealous...I have no idea what I'm doing...:o I'm just hoping it's a good machine I can learn to quilt on.

look up a Singer 15 manual. It will help you bunches. I have too many VSMs to be seriously jealous.

Don't forget to oil it with sewing machine oil or Tri-flow oil. If you have a full size 15 clone, just the bed of the machine will measure about 15 inches wide. I think the bed on 3/4 machines is 12-13 inches wide. Have fun. Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |
