Default Vintage White Model 658 (Japan) My New Restoration project

Just about finished restoring this beautiful metallic blue White model 658. Rewiring new belts and some oil is all it took to bring this beauty back to life.

The original wire to the light was blue and the bobbin winder tire was too. I just painted the new white wire with paint I had matched to the light bracket. The only thing it's missing is the original back panel plate. The blue one that is on there right now was just an old brass key tag that I painted with that matching paint. I'd love to find a solid blue bobbin winder tire and the original access panel plate to complete the job.

Pretty. To mangle a quote from Henry Ford - "You can get a bobbin tire in any color you want, as long as it's black." Colored tires haven't been around for many years. The original back access piece would have matched the face plate in design and gone over the light bracket.

Beautiful machine! I'm partial to the blue/turquoise 50's machines.

I wonder if you could paint the bobbin tire, I think I will try on one for my Singer 301
