Hello from Willialmsburg, Michigan,
I found a Featherweight in our local ads. On a very stormy winter's night we went about 30 miles to find this little machine. Greatest thing I have ever bought. Very good condition, however, the case looked like it had set is a damp place for some time. My husband made me an oak case, lined in green felt, with a home-made leather handle. I always gather a group of ladies when ever I take to a sewing bee. Oh! I almost forgot. He only wanted $100. SOLD and have placed it in my will that it will go to my daughter Julie. Karen C

Great find on the featherweight, Karen C.
Like I said, they are going for up to 500$ here in the NW.

Yes even my older one cost $400. I love it but it was a lot of money.

I have two FWs...one Centennial Edition and a white/celery one. The Centennial one belonged to my grandma and the white one was purchased by my grandma for my mother. I bought the repair DVD and book from here http://featherweight221.com/ and went completely through my Centennial Edition by myself - cleaned, oiled, etc. I'd never done anything to it and I've had that machine for probably 40 years. It wasn't giving me problems, I just figured I ought to give it some love :-) My baby just purrs now (not that it was very noisy to begin with - but it hadn't even been oiled in a long time, plus I found places to oil that I didn't know existed). You'll never be sorry if you buy one. They just don't die!

I just posted an ad for two featherweights in the for sale section. They are not mine. I was about to buy one when I found out my son had purchased one for me as a gift for my upcoming birthday.

The lady was selling for a neighbor, but says she also has one in excellent condition to sell as well. She even thought there were at least two others in a family members attic.

She is in the Boston area and will ship. I didn't go look at the machine, and she is about 40 mintues away from me, so I can't check it out for you, but she was very nice on the phone and this sounds quite legit.
