World Rotary machines

Someone gave me this machine and cabinet. The only identification is 1) World Rotary, 2) 815-1, 3) llX5288 ( not sure if first 2 characters are numbers or letters).
Any thoughts on year, manufacturer? Thank you! Sandy |
Welcome, Sandy. It looks like you have an 11X White sewing machine. I'm not sure which of the WRotary manuals would help, but you can find two manuals for said machines at https://www.singer.com/support if you put in "WRotary" (without the quotation marks) in the box to the left of the View Manuals box.
I have an 11X that is a little newer than yours. John did a thread about it at https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...t265423-2.html and there is a tutorial about loading the bobbin at https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...c-t172420.html Some additional information about White Sewing machines can be found at https://www.treadleon.net/WhiteSM/whites.html Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. I have a World Rotary treadle waiting (still!) to be fixed up. The White company made them. The person who gave it to me said it was made around 1912, but I don't know.

BTW There is a White/Kenmore group on facebook, if you are into such things.
