Another one that came out of a school. And is too short for tall people. (I forgot to say I am still quite short. I use a student's chair as high as it will go.) I wonder was this a school model only.

My cabinet of this type was stained medium brown wood. It had some kind of glossy finish on it that did not resist getting scratched up with a seam ripper point. A few scratches went all the way through and never hit pressboard.

I had to laugh when I read your post. ME TOO! I have all of my work surfaces including the kitchen counters at 36-40 inches. Not pretty but it works LOL

Right up my ally. I love the simple clean lines and it does the job it is meant to do.

I have this cabinet m now taken apart and sanded down, The front piece, two pieces on the ends / sides and the large top piece are all oak faced pressboard, The lid I'm sure is the same. the piece the machine sits in is solid oak, drawers are oak faced plywood.
This cabinet could be used to replace a singer treadle cabinet.
