Quick question on bulbs
I need a new bulb for my Singer touch and sew 758. The Singer site says part number 777910-001 I can find them on Amazon and ebay but I was wondering if any of the modern singer bulbs work? I am going shopping today and would like to be able to buy one locally.
This one that came with the machine is burned out ( looks like it started to melt a little around the contacts and is 25w 120v) it has two round contacts on the bottom and is GE. The Singer site gave me the number above but not the Voltage or wattage.
Thanks for any help

The reason it started to melt is the 25 W bulb is too big. Our T&S 778 uses the double contact bayonet bulb and they are 15 W.
Sew-Classic has them { http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/ } it's the first one shown on their "Lights and Bulbs" page.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking, I borrowed a bulb from my one of my Singer Slant o Matics to use for now. Works fine and it was a singer bulb so I didn't fear it would melt like the GE 25W. Off to Sew-classics to order some spare bulbs...thanks again.
