Here's a toddler size quilt for my grandson due in Jan 2017. My daughter in law likes modern quilts, and she wanted toothy. This is what I came up with. There's a shark fin on the right side on the aqua "water." First time sewing with minky as a backing. Sewn on my wonderful 1937 Singer 201A (I'm in love with this machine!)
Sorry for the terrible cell phone pics. My big camera broke.
forgot to add the pic:

and the little hat I made to go with it:
(yes, I did give it to her at the shower last weekend unfinished (binding) but I finished it today

Here's my latest quilt top, the string blocks were pieced using my 1955 Pfaff 60 treadle and the rows were sewn together with my 1917 White Rotary treadle. I was watching baseball playoffs and the treadles are in the family room where the television is.

Sharon, I meant to show you this one some time ago and kept forgetting. Thanks for showing yours and reminding me! I think yours is more interesting than mine - I tried something and it didn't work as well as I had hoped. Still it was fun to do! Mostly pieced on my Featherweight with a little help from a newer Janome at one point. It's still not quilted - I'll probably do something fast on my big Bernina just to get it done. This goes to a charity group and I'm sure someone will need it. Getting cold here.

Margaret F,
Thank you for showing me your quilt top. I like how you set the blocks, it gives it a more organized look. I still need to sew borders on my top, it'll be random lengths of 3.5" strips; left overs from another quilt.
I haven't decided if I'm using the big Pfaff or try to FMQ with the 1936 Singer 201K treadle.
My quilt will be going to The Linus Connection.org, for an in-need child in central Texas.

Sharon, I still haven't quilted this one! It's going to a mission so I need to get it done!
I do a lot of quilts for Linus, too. They are a great group of people and are doing such a wonderful thing for the children.

Morganfam7, strip quilts are great for when you just want to sew without thinking about it! I used a paper foundation for this one. I've used muslin squares as a foundation in the past, but it makes the quilt very heavy. A friend told me that using pages from an old phone book was the easiest way to get lightweight paper that pulls off easily. I had used Carol Doak's foundation paper, myself. The great thing about these quilts is that the strips can be any width, and don't even have to be straight! Wonky strips make it lots of fun
