Question Is it repairable?

This was for sale on CL. An old Singer treadle and cabinet. It looks like the thread spindle is broken off right in the middle of the shaft. Is this type of problem easily repairable. I don't have much knowledge or experience fixing these things either.
Don't know how to make link "click-able" and I'm hoping it will show the pic. Thanks. PS I think I've caught the illness.

Yes that is repairable. Those spool pins just tap in. You need to gently get it out so as not to damage the hole, then just tap in a new one.
Although the cabinet is in nice shape the machine is quite worn, so I consider the price to be about $200 ++ dollars too high. Just my opinion.

Thanks for your replies. As a "newbie" don't know much yet. Appreciate the opinion from Joe. No I'm not DFWian but live just over the La. broader. Don't get to Dallas much.

Not a problem. How did you find this one? Just stomping over CL?

Don't look to DFW for any deals. Everyone thinks their sewing machine boat anchor is made out of gold.

You can offer them less. Someone on CL had a older, (50-60's maybe) really ugly cabinet (no machine) and had it for sale for $500.00. I had a good laugh. You can offer less, and if they don't sell, may take you up on it of bring price way down. Here in FL they go for $100 and up. Sometimes WAY up.
