    Here is a 3 part youtube video showing how sewing machines work. It's pretty interesting. I don't know when this footage was made but looks sort of 1970's-ish.

    Thanks for sharing these videos! I am always saying that the sewing machine is an engineering design marvel. I had never seen the action of the bobbin and top thread slowed down enough to understand what was actually happening. And to think it happens so fast when we are sewing! I really enjoyed watching these videos! Many thanks!
