Default Seized feed dog knob

I have recently acquired a Vintage Simpsons Sewing machine. I am in the process of cleaning, oiling, and greasing the necessary parts but the feed dog knob on the deck is seized up. It moves but won't click over to drop the feed dogs. I don't know what to do to get it to move. Any suggestions?!
Patti

pic 3 has been a problem spot on some of mine. That and closer to the dogs. clean oil, wiggle, heat (blow dryer) wait repeat.

Don't try an force the knob if #2 isn't showing signs of moving.

Welcome aboard, Patti.

Thank you Leon... I have been a member for a while now but have done more lurking and learning than posting... 😁
I will give your suggestion a try. I was wiggling the knob a fair bit but my fingers got a little raw from the texture on the knob. Well off I go to scrounge up my hair dryer...
Thanks
Patti

It worked... Yay!!!! Oil didn't do it fast enough so my hubbie brought in the big guns with his Aerokroil (the oil that creeps) and it freed it up really fast after heating the spot up first with the blow dryer. I don't think those feed dogs ever got dropped. You were right though it was the spot at the cotter pin but also on the other side to the left of the cotter pin which actually was attached to the feed dogs.
Thanks again Leon. Greatly appreciated!
