Default Sewing Machine Disease Flare Up, Need Help

    Dear Group,

My disease, Machinus-Mustus-Rescuitus, was in remission for a few weeks. I left a Singer 401A for dead, I passed by three beauties in a Thrift Shop without blinking, and I even managed three days in a row without looking at the online ads.

However, I have just experienced a nasty flare-up. Help, please.

I see this machine for sale, for $20. That fits within my price per-pound range. It sure looks as though it needs new -everything-, but the finish Shore Is Purdy.

Should it transpire that I acquire this machine before my Anti-Machinus-Mustus-Rescuitus medication kicks in, tell me: What would be involved in converting this puppy to hand crank?

Basically you just remove the motor, motor bracket, and the light, then bolt on a hand crank, where the motor mount was bolted on.

If you want to retain the light, you likely need to wire it with a plug on the end, or if you want to retain the original wiring, you can buy a replacement light with a plug on it.

and you can bolt the handcrank over the motor bracket to make it "convertible" should you choose.

Yep, for $20, I would have picked it up and figured everything out later.

Did you really come here seeking help for your disease? Or a bunch of enablers to push you into relapse? I fall into the 2nd category, like everyone else.

Are those are La Vincenza decals? (not sure if I spelled that right). This picture looks so familiar -- I think I may have seen this machine online. The chrome is shiny! It doesn't look to me like it needs a lot. Is it a 28?

PS -- Steve and mlmack -- How can we tell that there is a hc/motor boss on the pillar?
