Default Singer 128-23

Recently I made a road trip up north to pick up some machines, I mean see my sister who happened to pick up machines for me. Among them was this 128. It cleaned up nicely and sews a great stitch. The case needed some work, a few spots glued and wood puttied, and it responded well to Howards RestoreAFinish. The machine lacked a light, but had the wiring there, and fortunately I had a light that worked perfectly, from a pile of free stuff I picked up a while back.

Interestingly when I looked on ebay for 128s, there was one just like this in that it had a chrome front shuttle plate and blackside back plate. Others had it reversed or both blackside. They are kind of expensive on ebay. This one was $20, so I think it was worth the drive.

Nice sister and good that you could go see her.

That spiffed up very nicely. And it is an Anniversary badge.
