I think they do jack the bids some times - it's ok I live here and I bid on an awful lot of them - people do bid them up a lot so I don't win them all.

The code name does not mean anything. DH and I both have ebay accounts, so for fun he'll check on items I'm bidding on.

and the "code" that is me is never the same from one auction to the other - so if you see the same high bidder code on different auctions I'd never assume it's the same bidder.

That's good to know. I haven't bid on anything with GW but there is a temptress currently on the St. Paul site. I'm slapping my fingers away from bidding on it.

I usually only buy local on GW. I did buy when I was passing through somewhere else so I could pick it up. I'm not sure I want them to pack something up.

of the 2 machines I bought from them, they were both well packed, no damage or lost bits, One of them could have survived an airdrop without a parachute! I'm not sure if all of them are training their workers to follow the same guidelines, but they did better than most ebay shippers in my own experiences.
