Singer 15-91 Goodwill find !
DH was browsing around Goodwill the other day and showed me this beauty sitting on a shelf and asked if I wanted her. Of course ! So we brought her home here to the cottage and today he and I were looking at her and he thinks he knows what to do to fix it but not sure. I told him that there are many people here (but not Joe) who can help him. So what does he need to do to remove that worn electrical wire and replace it ? And is there a special type of electrical wire to buy? We know we have extra foot pedals and we can buy a electrical plug on ebay for this Singer. I think it's a 15-91, right ? Any help would be appreciated. It is in perfect shape with all decals just beautiful and the bobbin area is perfectly clean. The decal on the top says :Made in Canada right below the Singer Manufacturing Logo. You probably want to know what it cost ? $5.00 ! This is his first time changing electrical wires on a sewing machine, but probably won't be his last.

It's definitely a 15, but it's not a 15-91. To remove the electric connection, just remove that big screw in the top of it and it will pull away from the machine. Pay attention to which wires are connected to which pins. This is a very easy rewire job.

I have a machine almost like that. The motor is at the top, connected with a screw. The electrical connection on the machine is GONE. But there is a foot control. (Looks like a very modern one.) So, would I be able to find an electrical connection dohinky somewhere?
It has no bobbin case either, but last week I found a bobbin case . . . with the part around the bobbin case . . . with a bobbin in it . . . .full of thread. . . . .For $1.30 . . . at St. Vinnies. What a find!
