Singer 15

Singer 15
I just took possession of my Aunts old singer. She is a Model 15 but has a factory motor attached. WooHoo. I will get it over to my local man. He loves to work on the old singers. He cleaned and serviced my featherweight. I can't wait to sew on her. The new machine is a beauty. I will post photos later. I am really excited. I also received lots of my Aunts old sewing stuff. I will need to go thru all of that as well. Luann

Love to see pictures! Singer made the model 15 for many, many years with some variations -so it will be neat to see exactly which one you've got.
The 15 is one of my favorite, I've got a 15-30 from from 1914, and a 15-91 from 1952, with a few more in between.

You will love the 15. If it has the potted motor on the back it is a 15-91. Do you know the year? I've bought 3 15-91s and you never know, I may need to find another. I have one at my son's house where we spend the winter, one at our summer cabin and I bought one for a gift to my SIL. She FMQ using my machine and wanted one. The machine is so strong.... will stitch through many layers of fabric and you can drop the feed dogs and FMQ. That's what I use mine for. .... just love it. My fancy $$$ new machine pushes the fabric while I'm FMQ or just quilting for that matter. That causes tucks and makes the quilt go wonky. I tried everything I can think of to fix it but it tucks and puckers anyway. But along comes the 15-91...... perfect stitching.... no tucks.... the quilt lays so nice and flat.
So, I'm a big fan of 15-91s. I know you will love yours.
